An Australian basketball team
wanted to be able to shoot more baskets.
Some team members practiced taking foul shots
for 30 minutes everyday.
Other team members didn't actually shoot basket.

the group that practiced for 30 minutes every day!
Many athletes use their imaginations
to become more successful.
They picture themselves getting better,
and it really happens.

It's always exciting to start a New Year.
Anything can happen.
Some people make New Year's resolutions
-promises to themselves.
Some people list goals they want to achive.
You may want to try this:
Write down your dreams for the year.
What do you hope will happen?
What would you like to do?
Put your list away until the end of the year;
Then look at it see
how many of your dreams came true.
